BRISTOL, TN - Lenoir-Rhyne softball saw their 19-game win streak come to an end on Monday, splitting with King. The Bears won game one 5-2 before falling 5-1 in game two.

Isabelle Wilkins allowed just two runs in the opener to pick up the second win of her career.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- The Bears left a runner on base in each of the first three innnings and went into the fourth down 1-0.
- Montana Honeycutt opened the scoring with a 2-run home run to right field, scoring Avery Kiger.
- Autumn Joyce later singled in a run to extend the lead.
- Lenoir-Rhyne grabbed some insurance runs in the fifth thanks to an error by the King shortstop and an RBI groundout from Adriana Lamantia.
- The Tornado scored once in the seventh and had the tying run at the plate, but Isabelle Wilkins forced a pop up to second to seal the win.
- Wilkins (2-2) struck out three and only walked one in the complete game victory.
- Madison Primm, Lani Warren, and Montana Honeycutt each had two hits.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- King took a 5-0 lead thanks to four unearned runs in the third.
- The Bears scored their lone run on a sac fly RBI from Faith Carrigan in the sixth.
- Lenoir-Rhyne left seven batters on base.
- Madison Primm was the lone Bear with two hits, going 2-for-4.
- Arabelle Shulenburger (0-1) struck out two in the loss.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Bears are 20-6 all time against the Tornado and had won the last seven prior to the game two result.
- Lenoir-Rhyne came within one win of tying their all-time best win streak of 20.
UP NEXT: The Bears will travel to Greenwood, South Carolina, on Wednesday for a battle with Lander. The Bearcats are 19-9 (7-2 PBC) and recently went 1-2 in a three-game series against #5 North Georgia. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from Doug Spears Field.
