GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team was swept by Lander today, falling by scores of 8-6 and 8-0.
This is just the third time this season the Bears have been swept.
Adriana Lamantia went 3-for-6 over the course of the two games to lead the Bears at the plate.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Lander took advantage of some quiet Bear bats, going up 4-0 after five.
- Lenoir-Rhyne tied it at 4-4 in the sixth with 2 RBI signles from Kennedy Lange and Autumn Joyce.
- Four unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth gave the Bearcats and 8-4 lead.
- Adriana Lamantia hit a 2-run home run in the seventh to cut the lead in half, but a pop up and ground out ended the game.
- Madison Wilson (11-2) struck out five and walked five in the loss.
- Lenoir-Rhyne out-hit Lander 13-9 but left nine runners on base.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- Lander led 4-0 after three.
- Lenoir-Rhyne failed to put a runner on until Madison Primm's single to lead off the fourth inning.
- The Bears loaded the bases in the fifth but failed to capitalize.
- Lander scored four runs on four hits in the bottom of the fifth to pick up the win.
- Faith Carrigan (9-3) struck out three in the loss.
- Primm and Autumn Joyce had the Bears' only hits of the game.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series 19-9.
- These teams hadn't met in Greenwood since the 2020 season.
- This was Lander's first ever shutout of the Bears.
UP NEXT: The Bears resume conference play on Saturday when they host Coker. The Cobras are 10-14 (2-4 SAC) and recently were swept by Mars Hill 9-2 and 8-5. They will face Newberry on Thursday before Saturday's games against the Bears. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. from McCrorie Family Stadium.
