MARS HILL, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's lacrosse team set a new program record on Saturday, scoring 29 goals in a 25-goal defeat of Mars Hill. Four of Lenoir-Rhyne's top single game goal performances have now come against the Lions. 

17 different Bears scored in this one with Donovan Powell and Jack Mulligan each scoring four. Powell's second goal was the 100th of his career.

STORY OF THE GAME

• The game was tied 1-1 for under 10 seconds before Morgan Madish gave the Bears the lead for good.
• After the Lions scored to make it 4-2 Lenoir-Rhyne went on a 21-0 run.
• During this stretch Sebastian Tobias scored the first goal of his Bear career.
• Matt Jones closed the game by scoring three consecutive goals.

STATS OF THE GAME

• Donovan Powell and Jack Mulligan each had four goals and an assist.
• Oran Lautenbach was 12-17 on face offs. Matthew Mancini went a perfect 5-5.
• Owen Peters played the first half and picked up the win.
• Lenoir-Rhyne out-shot the Lions 53-18 and held them to just 11-18 on clears.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• The 25 goal difference set a new margin of victory record, taking down the old mark of 21 set in both 2014 and 2025. 
• Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series 13-4 and haven't allowed Mars Hill to score in double figures since 2013.
• Donovan Powell is the seventh player in program history to score 100 goals in their career.
• Powell also entered the all-time points top ten with 145.

NEXT UP: Lenoir-Rhyne will stay on the road next Wednesday when they travel to Greeneville, Tennessee, to battle with Tusculum. The Pioneers are 6-3 (2-3 SAC) and defeated Coker 17-14 earlier today. That game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
