COLUMBUS, GA - After a rough opening round, the Lenoir-Rhyne women's golf team soared up the standings at the CSU Lady Cougar Classic, going from eighth to third. Due to the top two teams, West Florida and Carson-Newman, tying for first, Lenoir-Rhyne earned runner-up honors.
The Bears went 325-302-305 to finish with a three-round score of 932 (+68). Carson Newman's Madison Miller and West Florida's Millie Thompson tied for medalist honors with a 224 (+8).Â
Charlotte Colley and
Eve Neild tied for seventh with each shooting a 54-hole score of 229. Joining them in the top-20 was
Jaya Wilkinson, who put in two rounds under 80 for a 234 (+18).Â
Lenoir-Rhyne led the field in birdies with 33, three more than runner-up Carson-Newman and West Florida. Colley was tops in the field with a 4.75 (-3) average on par-5s and also led with 10 birdies. Wilkinson was second on the team and in the field with nine birdies. Neild was one of just two players in the field with only one double bogey.

Lenoir-Rhyne's next event will be the South Atlantic Conference Championships on April 12-14, at The Preserve at Verdae in Greenville, S.C.
