Hickory, N.C. -- The Lenoir-Rhyne Softball team extended their win streak to ten games with a sweep of visiting California (PA) on Friday afternoon.
Kaylan Brown went 3-for-3 in the opener with a two-run home run and a RBI triple as she picked up her first career four RBI game.
In the night cap the Bears used a six-run first inning, highlighted by a two run home run from
Erin Lookabill, to complete the sweep.
Montana Honeycutt added a three-run bomb in the third inning as LR cruised to an 11-0 victory.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- The Bears scored five times in the third inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Brown.
- Brown then added a RBI triple in the fourth inning to give LR a 6-0 lead.
- After a bases loaded walk from Lacey Nicholson, Brown laced a RBI single to right center to end the game via mercy rule.
- Brown finished 3-for-3 with four RBIs in the game and was just a double away from the cycle.
- Madison Wilson threw five shutout innings while striking out ten to pick up win number eight on the season.
- Isabelle Wilkins pitched a clean sixth inning in relief.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- The Bears batted through the lineup in the first as LR scored six runs on seven hits.
- Faith Carrigan and Madison Primm had RBI doubles while Erin Lookabill added a two-run home run in the big six-run first inning.
- Honeycutt connected on her second home run of the season in the four-run third inning.
- Carrigan picked up win number five with four innings of one hit ball in the circle.
- Madison Primm, Lani Warren, Carrigan and Honeycutt each had a pair of hits in game two.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- This was the first ever meeting between these teams.
- Wilson's ten strikeouts was her 8th double-digit strikeout game of her career.
- This was Brown's first four RBI game of her career.
