Hickory, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Lacrosse team put themselves in an early 5-0 deficit but roared back to take an 11-9 lead in the third quarter. Newberry regained momentum by scoring six of the next seven goals and hung on for the 16-15 victory.
Morgan Madish led the Bears with four goals and three assists on the afternoon.

STORY OF THE GAME
- The Bears saw themselves in an early deficit as Newberry scored the first five goals of the game.
- Donovan Powell and Nate Serrano got the Bears on the board late in the first but the Wolves led 6-2 after 15 minutes of play.
- Lenoir-Rhyne closed the half with two man-up goals but Newberry went into halftime with an 8-5 advantage.
- Morgan Madish scored twice in the first 64 seconds of the second half to get the Bears within one, 8-7.
- After a Newberry goal to make it 9-7, the Bears scored four straight times to take their first lead of the day and had an 11-9 lead with 5:46 left to play in the third.
- The Wolves then went on a run by scoring six of the next seven goals to make it 15-12 halfway through the fourth.
- Owen Scott scored a late goal to cut the lead to one but a key face-off win by Newberry in the closing seconds sealed the win.
