Abbey Walker had three goals and added two assists as the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse team moved to 2-0 in the SAC with a 12-9 victory over Newberry on Saturday.
Anneleise Meyer,
Jessica Mikesell, and
Kirra Olson each added two goals in Lenoir-Rhyne's first win over Newberry since 2021.

STORY OF THE GAME
- After Newberry scored a pair of goals to start, Jessica Mikesell and Abbey Walker both scored to tie it at 2-2 with 5:27 left in the opening quarter.
- Newberry closed the first quarter with two more goals to take a 4-2 lead after fifteen minutes.
- LR started the second period with four straight goals to take their first lead of the day including two goals in :34 seconds by Kirra Olson and then Anneleise Meyer off the draw control.
- Newberry scored the last goal of the first half as LR took a 6-5 lead into the break.
- Newberry scored three of four goals in the third period to take a 8-7 lead into the final quarter.
- The Bears held the Wolves to just one goal in the final period as Jessica Mikesell tied the game at 8-8 with a man-up goal.
- Walker give the Bears the lead for good with her second goal with 12:35 left and iced it with her third goal of the contest with 3:01 left in the game.
