HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team scored 31 runs on Saturday to complete the weekend sweep of Emory & Henry. In the opener, LR pounded 25 hits as
Matt Procopio,
Drew Beard, and
Sylas Boris each had a four hit game. Boris hit a pair of home runs and collected six RBIs in the 19-9 victory.
In the night cap,
Mackenzie Wainwright went deep for the 13th time this season while
Lleyton Lackey added a two run home run to give Lenoir-Rhyne a 12-3 win.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Bears scored early and often as LR scored at least two runs in six of the eight innings.
- This including jumping out to a 6-0 lead after one inning.
- Emory & Henry scored four times in the third, three times in the fourth and a pair in the sixth.
- LR walked it off with a Lleyton Lackey RBI single to envoke the mercy rule in the 8th inning.
- Bears pounded 25 hits including four hit games from Boris, Procopio, and Beard.
- Boris finished the game 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs.
- The Bears top seven in the lineup went 22-for-39 on the afternoon.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- After the Wasps opened a 2-0 lead, the Bears scored six times in the bottom of second to take control of the game.
- LR added a pair of runs in 4th and a put up a four spot in the sixth to expand the lead to 12-3.
- Kellen Gradisar threw the complete game to earn his fifth win of the season.
- Andrew Muraco, Nathan Kidder, and Andrew Stillinger each had three hits in the night cap.
- Wainwright and Lackey both went deep in this one as the duo joined Kidder and Stillinger with at least two runs driven in.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The 25 hits are the most during the Adam Skonieczki era.
- LR had 41 hits in the two games combined.
- Boris was one off the program record of seven RBIs in a game, set by Craig Seizmore back in 2001.
- Muraco had at least two hits in all four games this week, including back-to-back three hit games today.
UP NEXT: Lenoir-Rhyne will travel to Belmont Abbey for a key Southeast Regional matchup on Wednesday night. The Crusaders defeated the Bears 14-9 on March 17th as LR will look to even the season series. First pitch from Belmont is at 6:00 p.m.
