GREENEVILLE, TN - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team swept Tusculum on Saturday to take the weekend series against the Pioneers. After falling on Friday night, The Bears won 12-2 and 9-1 on Saturday to win the series.
Sylas Boris hit his 13th home run of the season in the first game to tie for the team lead as
Mackenzie Wainwright then hit his 14th of the season in the night cap to retake that same lead.
Michael Joyce and
Kellen Gradisar combined to throw 13 1/3 innings and allowed just three runs (one earned) as each picked up wins today.
The Bears will head into the final SAC weekend next Friday in third place, a half game behind Wingate for the second seed and the right to host the opening round of the SAC Tournament.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Bears scored in seven of the nine innings, including seven runs over the final two innings.
- Nathan Kidder, coming off a three hit game last night, added four more hits in this one.
- Sylas Boris connected on his 13th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the 8th.
- Andrew Stillinger had three of the Bears' 18 hits and added three RBIs.
- Michael Joyce got the win on the mound, hurling 6 1/3 innings allowing just two unearned runs.
- Michael Burnley threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen to earn the save.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- For the second straight game, the Bears scored in all but two innings.
- The Bears opened a 3-0 lead before scoring five runs in the last two innings to win 9-1
- Bears got RBIs from Andrew Stillinger, Lleyton Lackey and Seth Christmas to open that 3-0 lead.
- Christmas drove in his second run in the 5th inning to take a 4-1 lead.
- Mackenzie Wainwright hit a three-run home run in the 6th to open a 7-1 lead, his 14th long ball of the year.
- Drew Beard and Stillinger give the Bears a 9-1 lead with RBIs in the seventh.
- Kellen Gradisar went the distance for the second straight weekend to pick up the win. He give up just one run while striking out four.
- After committing nine errors in the first two games, the Bears defense did not commit an error and turned two double plays.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- With his home run in the second game, Wainwright tied 2025 All-American Cole Stanford for second most in program history.
- Wainwright 14-game hit streak came to an end in the opener today.
- Christmas and Kidder each extended their streak to eight games on Saturday.
- Stillinger had five RBIs in the two games today.
UP NEXT: The Bears will return home for four straight home games to end the regular season, starting with a mid-week game against Ferrum on Tuesday afternoon. This will be the first meeting between these programs. Ferrum is 17-24 on the season after dropping a double header with Emmanuel today. First pitch from Durham Field is scheduled for 3:00 PM on Tuesday.
