HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne softball team suffered their first conference loss on Tuesday, falling 3-1 in game two of the doubleheader. In the opener,
Madison Wilson went the distance in the circle to propel the Bears to the 6-1 victory.
Lenoir-Rhyne out hit the Trojans 6-5 in game two, but 10 runners left on base for the Bears was their downfall.

STORY OF GAME ONE:
- Anderson scored the opening run due to an error in the first.
- Lenoir-Rhyne answered with an Adriana Lamantia RBI single in the bottom of the inning.
- Madison Primm gave the Bears the lead with an RBI single in the fourth.
- Lenoir-Rhyne picked up four insurance runs in the sixth, highlighted by doubles from Autumn Joyce and Alexandria Gray.
- Madison Wilson (15-2) struck out nine and didn't walk a batter in the win.
- Kennedy Lange was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, the first three-hit game of her career.
- Autumn Joyce was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored.
STORY OF GAME TWO:
- After two hits in the first inning the Bears went hitless until two more in the sixth.
- Anderson scored in first off a throwing error, the fifth on an RBI single, and in the seventh on a solo home run.
- Lenoir-Rhyne failed to capitalize late in the game, leaving five runners on base in the final two innings.
- Kennedy Lange scored the Bears' only run on an RBI single from Alexandria Gray.
- Faith Carrigan (12-4) struck out six and didn't walk a batter in the loss.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Lenoir-Rhyne leads the all-time series 29-15
- The Bears have not swept a home series over Anderson since 2018.
- Lenoir-Rhyne cannot mathematically finish with a losing record this season, giving coach Shena Hollar her 27th consecutive winning season.
- Lenoir-Rhyne holds a two-game lead over Anderson in the SAC standings with eight games to play.
