EMORY, VA - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's track & field team took fourth at the SAC Outdoor Championships, one spot better than their finish at the indoor championships.
The men saw three SAC Champions in the form of
Havyn Spain,
Tobechukwu Nwokocha, and
Antonyio Davis. Spain won his third straight conference 400 meter crown, taking home the title in 47.37. Nwokocha battled cold, wet, and windy conditions on Thursday to win the long jump with a leap of 7.17 meters. Davis, the indoor 60m hurdles champion, crossed the line just 0.02 ahead of teammate
Liam Sutton to become the 110m hurdles champion with a time of 14.12.
Corey Ragin Jr. bettered his PR in the 400m hurldles with a time of 52.85, making him second in the race and second in the Lenoir-Rhyne record book. The 4x100 and 4x400 teams both placed third with NCAA provo marks, while Spain ran a 20.78 to take third in the 200 meter dash.
Wingate won the meet with 211.5 points, followed by Catawba (109), Carson-Newman (95.5), Lenoir-Rhyne (81), and Anderson (77).
