Women’s Tennis Season Ends in NCAA Regional

Salisbury, N.C.- The Lenoir-Rhyne women's tennis team's historic season came to an end on Friday afternoon, falling 4-1 to No. 16 North Georgia in the opening round of the NCAA Southeast Regional.

The Bears finished the season with a 15-4 overall record after making the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and advancing to the SAC Championship match for the first time in school history.

Lenoir-Rhyne picked up a doubles victory from Mehetia Boosie / Runa Muderrisoglu but fell at No. 1 and 3 doubles to drop that point. Nellie Wahlberg came back from 4-0 down in second set to win 6-4, 7-6, giving the Bears their only point of the match.
