Runa Muderrisoglu becomes the first CSC Academic All-American in LR Women's Tennis history

HICKORY, N.C. - Runa Muderrisoglu of the Lenoir-Rhyne women's tennis team made history on Tuesday, becoming the first player in program history to be named an Academic All-American. Muderrisoglu was a second team honoree.

Muderrisoglu was an All-SAC First Team singles honoree, going 12-7 at the #1 spot and 8-3 in conference play. Her and her doubles partner Mehetia Boosie were named to the doubles All-SAC Second Team, going 20-5 at the #2 position and 8-2 in conference play. Thanks in part to her success, the Lenoir-Rhyne women's tennis team earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history.

A Computer Science major, Muderrisoglu has posted a 4.00 cumulative GPA over her three years in college. She has been on the LR President's List every semester she has been eligible and earned the LR Computer Programming and Engineering Physics Achievement Awards in 2025. A tennis team captain, she is the vice president of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon Honor Society, volunteered for student research about female athletes, and is the main tennis representative in community and donor relation activities.
