MCCORMICK ,S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team opened their 2026-27 season at the Savannah Lakes Fall Invite, taking 12th out of 18 teams.
The Bears shot a 872 (+8) as a team, posting a team best round of -1 in round one. USC Aiken won with an 830 (-34), taking home the title by 17 strokes over second place Wingate.
Leading the way for the Bears was freshman
Flynn Lewis, who went 71-68-70 to finish with a 209 (-7). His bogey free second round 68 was the best round of any Bear in the tournament. Fellow freshman
David Gee was the second highest placer for Lenoir-Rhyne, tying for 27th with a 215 (-1). Veteran
Archie Mathers shot consistent rounds of 74-73-74 to tie for 58th with a 221 (+5).
Jared Myers tied for sixth in par-3 scoring with a 2.75 (-1) average.
Flynn Lewis tied for seventh with 13 birdies.
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
The Bears travel to St. Augustine, Florida, next week to take part in the Jay Jennison Cup. The tournament takes place at Slammer and Squire and is hosted by Flagler.
