ST. AUGUSTINE, FL - The Lenoir-Rhyne mens' golf team tied for sixth at the Jay Jennison Cup this week, finishing with a three-round score of 853 (-11).

Winning the tournament was the host Flagler, who went 278-284-274 for an 836 (-28). Individually, Lynn's Tristan Wieland and Flagler's Matthew French tied for medalist honors with a 204 (-12).

Leading the Bears was freshman David Gee, who's second round 65 (-7) propelled him to a final total of 211 and a 16th place finish. Veteran Archie Mathers and freshman Flynn Lewis both tied for 21st, carding a 213 (-3). Fellow freshman Brady McIntyre went 77-68-71 to take 30th with a 216 (E). The Bears' second round total of 274 (-14) was tied for the lowest team round of the tournament. 

Individually, Archie Mathers tied for eight in par-4 scoring, averaging a 3.93 (-2). David Gee was tied for third with 40 pars in the tournament was tied for first with only three bogeys. Flynn Lewis and Brady McIntyre each notched an eagle.

The Bears will hit the links next week when they travel to Lancaster, South Carolina, to take part in the Newberry Wolves Fall Invitational. The tournament will be placed on Monday and Tuesday at Edgewater Golf Club.
