MCCORMICK, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne women's golf tied for sixth at the Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational this week, finishing with a three-round total of 892 (+28). Leading the way for the Bears was Eve Neild, who posted the best score-to-par of her career with a 213 (-3) to finish second out of 101 golfers. That finish is tied for the best in her career as she placed second at last year's St. Simon's Intercollegiate.

North Georgia won the tournament with an 869 (+5), defeating second place Anderson by seven strokes. Medalist honors went to Lander's Sarah Reed, who defeated Neild by one stroke with a 212 (-4). 

Finishing behind Neild was freshman Kajsa Hederas, who went 73-74-78 to tie for 29th with a 225 (+9). Lenoir-Rhyne's third finisher, Jaya Wilkinson, went 75-82-74 to tie for 45th with a 231 (+15). Tying for 49th were Pink Mangan and Emily Gilmour, who both carded a 232 (+16) over the course of 54 holes.

As a team the Bears were consistent, ranking fourth in the field with 169 pars. They also took advantage of the par-5s, finishing fifth with an average score of 5.08 (+5). Eve Neild tied for first with an average of 3.87 (-4) on par 4s, and sixth on par 5s (4.83, -2). Kajsa Hederas was tied for fourth with a 3.00 average on par 3s.

Lenoir-Rhyne will have a few weeks off before heading to Dahlonega, Georgia, to take part in the North Georgia Lee Anne Noble Classic. The tournament will take place at the Achasta Golf Club on October 12-13.
