HICKORY, N.C. - Thanks to her performance in the first two tournaments of the year, senior Eve Neild has been named the SAC Women's Golfer of the Week.

Neild, who qualified for the NCAA Regional last year, earned two top-20 finishes to open the season, tying for 16th at the season opening City with Spirit Fall Classic and coming in second at the Savannah Lakes Women's Fall Invite. 

At the City with Spirit Fall Classic, Neild tied for 16th with a 226 (+10), carding rounds of 76-75-75. She ranked seventh in the field with 37 pars over 54 holes. This past week at the Savannah Lakes Women's Invitational, Neild posted the best score to par of her career, taking second with a 213 (-3). The senior didn't record a round over par, going 71-72-70 to come within one stroke of medalist honors. She led the field in par 4 scoring (3.87, -4) and was tied for fifth with 39 pars. 

This is Neild's first SAC Women's Golfer of the Week honor, and she is the first Bear to win the award since Danielle Bekker earned it in October of last year.
