Box Score Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team took down the Catawba Indians with relative ease on Senior Day on Wednesday night, 4-1. The Bears are winners of five of their last seven games and find themselves ranked No. 4 in the Southeast Regional rankings.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The seniors stepped up when it was most appropriate as half the goals came from the Class of 2018.
Ignacio de Goya scored his third goal of the year in the fifth minute and
Cameron Saul found the back of the net in the twelfth minute. In the second half, junior
Goncalo Garcia and freshman
Jamie de Manuel both knocked in goals to secure the victory for the Bears. For de Manuel, it was the first goal of his career.
• Lenoir-Rhyne outshot the Indians, 26-11 (11-7 on goal) and led in corner kick chances (9-5). The lone goal by Catawba came from Tom Joyce in the 60
th minute of the contest off an assist from Tom Singhgolden.
• Junior Alex Langer improved to 8-4 on the year as the junior made six stops, while Gianluca Tommasi grabbed seven of his own but fell to 0-8 on the season for Catawba.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• Thanks to a terrific home environment, the Bears are 5-1 at Moretz Sports - Athletic Complex this season.
• Following the contest, the Bears honored their nine seniors.
• LR has a six point advantage over second place Queens in the league standings and also own the tiebreaker with the Royals thanks to a 3-2 win on Oct. 6.
• With tonight's win, the Bears lock up a home playoff contest. The top four seeds host the South Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal and the Bears can't finish any lower than third place.
