HICKORY, N.C. – The No. 1 seed Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team took down the No. 8 seed Coker Cobras, 2-0, on Tuesday evening in the Quarterfinal Round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
• The Bears and Cobras both played conservatively in the first half of a scoreless match. But LR turned it on in the second half and knocked in two goals from a pair of seniors,
Ignacio de Goya, who scored the game-winner in the 57th minute, and
Cameron Saul who finished the Cobras off with his insurance goal.
• The shots taken in the contest were very much skewed in the direction of LR, who outshot the Cobras 28-6, and 7-2 on goal. The Bears applied pressure all night, resulting in a final corner kick count of 11-5 in favor of the home team.
• Keeper Alex Langer earned the win in goal for LR, as he added two saves to improve his record to 11-4.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
• De Goya continues to show off his scoring ability and is now second on the team in goals scored with seven and second on the team in points with 15 after adding an assist to his scoring column tonight. Saul kept pace with his fellow senior and is sitting at third on the squad with six goals on the season and 14 points, both which are tied with senior captain
Florian Simon.
• With the victory, LR is now set to have a rematch with the Trojans on Friday with hopes of avenging its' most recent loss that came on the last regular season game of the year.
• The Bears have been nearly unbeatable at home, finishing the season with a 7-1 record within the friendly confines of the Moretz Sports – Athletic Complex.
