HICKORY, N.C. – The No. 3 seed Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team extended their four-game winning streak and took down the No. 6 seed Tusculum University Pioneers in the Quarterfinal Round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament on Tuesday night, 1-0.

STATS OF THE MATCH:
•   After an entire half of scoreless soccer, junior Hannah Van Eerden knocked in the only goal of the match with 14 minutes to play in the game off an assist from junior Abigael McGarel.
•  The Bears held possession for the majority of the game, outshooting the Pioneers by a count of 24-10 and the LR defense held the visiting team to zero shots on goal throughout the contest. The Bears managed to capitalize on seven corner kicks while Tusculum University managed just two.
•   Senior Goalkeeper for the Bears, Lauren Sterling, had an easy night as she never was given a chance at a save but her record increased to 11-5-1. Pioneers keeper Hannah Graham managed to add nine saves to her season stats.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•   Tonight was Van Eerden's sixth goal and first game-winner of the season, putting her at second on the team with 14 points. McGarel added her first assist as well.
•    With the victory, the Bears move on in the SAC tournament to play in the semifinal round on Friday.
•    After tonight's win, LR now evens their home record to 4-4 in 2018.
