Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Basketball Team had six players score in double figures on Saturday night, taking down the Emmanuel College Lions in game two of the Peach Belt/South Atlantic Conference Challenge, 91-87.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• Lenoir-Rhyne had an impressive scoring output, being led by their preseason all-conference selections, Corey Thomas and
Djibril Diallo – both with 17 points in the game. The Bears saw scoring from all but two players and six with double-digit scoring efforts.
Bertrand Awana flirted with a double-double down low, scoring 12 while grabbing nine boards.
• The Lions were impressive shooting the ball, finishing the game with a 55% mark from the floor. Emmanuel was led in scoring by senior Kendrick Colvin, who stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, six rebounds and four steals.
• Both squads shot the ball over 50% from the floor, but the Bears held the significant advantage from long range, shooting 9-for-20 (45%) compared to the Lions' 5-for-16 (33.1%).
• It was a hard-fought battle down low, with the Bears out rebounding the Lions, 34-29, but the Lions outscored the home team in the paint, 48-40.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Thomas has led the Bears in scoring in two-straight games and is averaging 20.5 points per game in the early going for 2018-19.
• LR is proving to be able to score from all over the court, averaging 96 points in the first two games of the year.
• The Bears have gone 2-0 in the PBC/SAC Challenge before, the last time tipping off the 2015-16 season against UNC Pembroke and Francis Marion. LR went on to finish that season 21-10 overall.
