Hickory, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team (10-2) took a three-game weekend series from Goldey-Beacom (0-3) with a doubleheader sweep on Sunday afternoon by scores of 5-3 and 4-0 at Bears Field.

STATS OF THE GAME (Game 1):
• Lenoir-Rhyne senior shortstop
Tripp Hamrick (Ellenboro, N.C.) came through with the game-winning, two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning to break a two-all tie and give the Bears the lead for good.

Matt Sullivan (Bristol, Va.) improved to 3-0 on the year after earning the win while senior
Landon Whitson (Marion, N.C.) pitched a scoreless seventh inning for his third save of the season. Goldey-Beacom's Mitch Guerrieri (Greentown, Pa.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
STATS OF THE GAME (Game 2):
• Lenoir-Rhyne broke open a scoreless tie by scoring all four of the game's runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. The frame was highlighted by RBI singles from redshirt freshman third baseman

John Grigg (Lawndale, N.C.) improved to 3-0 on the year after pitching six scoreless innings to go along with 10 strikeouts. Trevor Jump (Wilmington, Del.) (0-1) took the loss for the Lightning.
