Anderson, S.C. – Lenoir-Rhyne (12-5, 2-1) and Anderson (4-8, 1-2) split a South Atlantic Conference Baseball doubleheader Saturday at Memorial Stadium.  The Bears fall in the first contest by a 19-6 score but rally to win the nightcap, 11-3.

STATS OF THE GAME (Game 1):
•    The Trojans scored the final 13 runs of the contest – including a 10-run seventh inning – to break the game open.  All 10 runs in the frame were unearned.  Chandler Castleberry (Waxhaw, N.C.) and Jackson Strange (Greenville, S.C.) both hit two-run home runs for the Trojans.
•    For Lenoir-Rhyne, junior outfielder Justin Dean (Mauldin, S.C.) hit a run-scoring triple while senior outfielder Marcus Shoemaker (Colfax, N.C.) added three hits and an RBI in the setback.
•    On the mound, Anderson's Austin Todd (Pelzer, S.C.) (1-2) earned the win in relief while junior Kevin LaRosa (Orange Park, Fla.) (0-1) was tagged with the loss.
 
STATS OF THE GAME (Game 2):
•    The Bears got a bit of revenge in the nightcap, scoring the game's final 10 runs to salvage the split.  Dean and junior first baseman Alex Reynolds (Kings Mountain, N.C.) both hit home runs to lead the Bears' 10-hit attack.  Dean now has a team-leading three round-trippers on the season.
•    Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore John Grigg (Lawndale, N.C.) pitched into the sixth inning and earned the win.  Grigg improved to 2-0 while striking out four batters.
•    For Anderson, Castleberry drove in a run with a single in the first frame while Matthew Stanley (Trinity, N.C.) (0-1) suffered the setback for the Trojans.

UP NEXT:
Lenoir-Rhyne returns home to take on Belmont Abbey Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., while Anderson travels to Due West, S.C., to face rival Erskine on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.
