STATS OF THE MATCH:
•    Lenoir-Rhyne junior goal keeper Alexander Langer (STUTTGART, GERMANY) earned the victory in goal (1-1) after making six saves in his 104 minutes in goal as the defense allowed 11 shots, seven on target, all night.  Despite taking the loss, the Bobcats goal keeper, freshman Anton Sundstrom (Ostersund, SWEDEN) held his ground, recording five saves on the night.
• Two newcomers did all the damage in this one as Cameron Saul broke the scoreless game in the 61st minute on an assist from fellow forward sophomore Victor Cascon (Salamanca, SPAIN) and junior transfer Goncalo Garcia (Lisbon, PORTUGAL) hit the game-winner, to end the match in double overtime with 104:08 on the clock.  LMC's Johannes Oeksnevad (Hommersaak, NORWAY) put the home team on the scoreboard in the 77th minute to tie the match off an assist from Pol Vassart (Tournon-sur Rhone, FRANCE).
•    LR held a 17-11 advantage in shots on the evening  and also had more opportunities in corner kicks by a count of 10-6.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
•    Last season, the Bears and Bobcats were caught in a double overtime battle, but ended in a 1-1 lock.
•    Saul has now scored in both games to start the 2018 campaign and Garcia scored his first goal in an LR uniform.
•    Cascon's assist in tonight's game is the first of the season and fourth of his career.
•    Defensive play is key for Head Coach Jack Winter's squad as eight of his 10 victories in 2017 resulted in one or fewer goals for the opposing team, and that trend continued tonight.

UP NEXT:
