COACHES TAKE

"It was a clinical performance from the ladies today," said Head Coach Tom Rees. "We were pushed at the top spots in singles but battled well and came up with a strong team performance."

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Bears barely broke a sweat in doubles action, winning by scores of 5-0 (unfinished), 6-0 and 6-0 to claim the doubles point.

As mentioned, the Crusaders pushed the Bears at the top two singles spots. NGU claimed its only win of the day in first singles, winning by scores of 6-3, 2-6 and 10-8. However, the Bears would take the rest of the decisions including a 7-6, 6-3 win from Diana Babinets in the second spot. Marta Escanero (6-2, 6-2), Gemma Southwick (6-1, 6-0), Ally Garofoli (6-0, 6-0) and Sanne Janssen (6-0, 6-0) all earned singles victories for LR.

UP NEXT

The Bears are scheduled to return to action on Saturday as they host Emmanuel at 1 p.m. as long as the weather cooperates.
