HICKORY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics announces its inaugural 828 Day celebration, Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Moretz Stadium from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The free event will be full of family-friendly activities and include an autograph session with student-athletes, spirit squads, and coaches. The evening event will be capped with a visit from the Spirit of LR Marching Band and Joe Bear, LR mascot.

"828 Day offers a new and unique opportunity for our student-athletes to embrace the community, thank their fans, and celebrate Bear Nation," said Senior Associate Athletic Director
Aaron Bessey.

The first 100 guests will receive a limited edition "The Bears" poster made in the likeness of the newly released Lion King. Autograph cards will also be provided for an 828 Day keepsake. In a kids' zone, youth will be encouraged to kick the ball, throw a lacrosse ball, and more. Food trucks will be on site for snacks and beverages.
