HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Lacrosse Team hosted one of the best teams in the country and came out on the wrong end of a 19-6 defeat at the hands of No. 6 Tampa on Saturday afternoon.

STATS OF THE GAME:
• All of LRs offense came from three players in this one.
Cathleen Gaffney,
Michelle Tang and
Gia Colombo each scored twice. Gaffney added an assist and
Alyssa Sack had a pair of helpers.
• Colombo caused three turnovers in the contest and had two draw controls.
• Claire Swanson was the leader for the Spartans, finishing with five goals and three assists for eight points. Swanson added nine draw controls.
• Cece Colombo and Carly Vaccaro each scored four times and Hannah Bush had three assists.
• Bridget Sutter earned the win for the visitors, stopping 10 shots and allowing six goals.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
• Tampa had 33 shots compared to 23 for the Bears.
• The matchup was a battle between sisters. Gia and Cece Colombo faced off as opposing players.
• Tampa controlled this one thanks to an 18-8 advantage in draw controls.
• This is the third of six straight at home to open the season for LR.
