HICKORY, N.C. - For the first time in program history, the Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Cross County team is ranked in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) coaches' poll. The Bears came in 29th in this week's poll with 18 votes.
The Bears are coming off a 9th place finish last weekend in the star-studded Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Illinois. The top nine schools from last Saturday's event were nationally ranked programs in this weeks poll including the Bears.
Janet Kwambai had a 7th place finish last Saturday which continued her strong campaign finishing in the top 7 in all four races so far this year. Janet and the rest of the Bears have now turned their attention to the SAC Championship that will take place on Saturday October 23th in Charlotte.
