HICKORY, N.C. – Senior goalkeeper
Grayson Cameron has been named CoSIDA Second Team Academic All-American as announced by the organization. Cameron owns a perfect 4.0 GPA and led the Bears to a National Semifinal.
Cameron was named to the Dean's List in her first year at Lenoir-Rhyne and previously was a two-time ACC All-Academic Team selection during her time at NC St.
Despite being a No. 7 seed, Cameron's heroics led LR farther than any female program in the history of LR Athletics during the NCAA Era. Cameron led the Bears to three dramatic penalty kick wins in four NCAA Tournament games. Thanks to Cameron's efforts, LR topped undefeated Catawba in the first round and to upsets of Flagler and Florida Tech with multiple saves in PKs. Cameron also posted a clean sheet against Queens in the second round and has allowed just two goals in the tournament, one on a penalty kick.
Cameron becomes the eighth player in LR Women's Soccer history to be named an Academic All-American.
