Acton Named CCA All-American

HICKORY, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's Ria Acton has been named to the 2021 Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) Division II All-American Team. Acton, a junior from Leiceister, England, was named to the 2nd team, and becomes the ninth All-American in the history of LR women's soccer. Aqsa Mushtaq was the last Bear All-American in 2019. 

Despite only playing in 14 games this season, Acton scored nine goals and had six assists for a total of 24 points. She was named First-Team All-SAC for the second season in a row, and earned First-Team All-Region honors as well.  

Lenoir-Rhyne has advanced to the national semifinals for the first time in program history, and will be taking on Grand Valley State in the semifinals. The Lakers had three players named to the CCA All-America First Team, including Greta DeLoach, Cecillia Steinwascher and Abby Willerer.

LR and GVSU play in the national semifinals tomorrow (12/9) at 1 p.m. EST in Colorado Springs, Colo.
