ROCK HILL, S.C. – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played in the seventh weekend of the 2021 season and Lenoir-Rhyne's Lauren Rakes earns the Pitcher honor.

Rakes, a sophomore pitcher, went 2-0 for the Bears with wins over Anderson and Queens this past week. Overall, she went 16 innings with 12 hits and two walks, while striking out 23. This is Rakes' first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.

Rakes and the Bears are scheduled to return to action tomorrow when they host Wingate at 2/4 p.m.
