Hickory, N.C.- With her single in the first inning in game one,
Savannah Moorefield extended her hitting streak to 22 games which broke the program record set by teammate
Kylee Leonhardt.
Lauren Rakes threw a one-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts in game one and
Hannah Jennings and Leonhardt homered in game two as the Bears took the nightcap 10-1 to sweep Coker to start SAC play.

STATS OF GAME ONE:
- The Bears got on the board with two runs in the first. Cassidy Wall had a sac fly and Julia Mardigian had an rbi groundout.
- LR added a run with another sac fly in the second, this time by Katelyn Rackard.
- RBIs by Jennings, Rakes and Moorefield in the 5th gave the Bears a 6-0 lead.
- Jennings just missed a home run in the 6th as the senior doubled off the wall to bring in Leonhardt to give the Bears a 7-0 lead.
- Rakes retired the first 12 Cobras before giving up her first baserunner when Kayla Oswell lead off the top of the 5th with a single to center field.
- Rakes did not allow a runner to get to second until the seventh inning when she walked two Cobras in the inning.
- With her fourth complete-game shutout of the year, Rakes moved to 9-1 on the season.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- Mardigian got the Bears on the board with a two-out, two-run single in the first. LR moved to 10-2 this season when scoring in the first inning.
- Coker's Chloe Pelham cut the lead in half with an RBI double in the 3rd to give Coker their first run of the day.
- Jennings then crushed her second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the bottom of the 3rd.
- LR then put a six-spot up in the bottom of the fourth highlighted by Leonhardt's three-run blast.
- Morgan Beeler picked up her sixth win of the season, throwing the complete game allowing three hits and one run.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Leonhardt's home run was her 45th career, which moved her all alone in second place in program history. Leonhardt is one home run away from trying Sarah Atkins for the program's record.
- Wall entered today hitting .393 with 13 RBIs in her last eight games.
- Rakes' 16 strikeouts in the first game was her 8th double-digit strikeout game already this year for the Bears.
- Jennings' home run was her third career long ball.
- This was Coker's first visit to Hickory since 2018.
- Bears have opened with Coker to start SAC play three of the last four years.
- LR is 92-17 when scoring in the first inning since 2015.
- Moorefield went 0-2 with walk in the nightcap as her program-best 22-game hitting streak was snapped.
