Myles Moffat and Limestone's
Ebba Hellman have been selected as the recipients of the 2021-22 South Atlantic Conference Presidents Award, the Conference announced today.
The highest individual honor presented annually by the South Atlantic Conference, the President's Award is voted on by the league's Faculty Athletic Representatives and to be eligible, student-athletes must exemplify excellence in athletics, academics and community service. Further, to be nominated for this prestigious award, the individual must have been honored as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year during the year in one of the league's 20 sponsored sports.
Moffat, a graduate student attacker from Airdrie, Alberta, Canada has a bachelors in Management and Marketing and recently earned his MBA with a 4.0 GPA. He has made an appearance on the university's Presidents List three times for having a 3.9 GPA or higher and no B's. He was awarded the 2021 Wayne B. Powell award which is given to one Lenoir-Rhyne male athlete who embodies excellence in the classroom, on the field and is a true leader on campus. He has been named the Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year three times in a row.

Moffat was involved in many service and leadership opportunities starting with many years of volunteer work at the Catawba County Humane Society caring for dogs and cats, while also cleaning cages, walking dogs and caring for cats. He has been part of the Bears Leadership Academy, a program that develops and educates student-athletes on becoming great leaders on the field and in life. Moffat was involved in Lenoir-Rhyne's "828 Day," which included signing autographs and playing games and activities with young kids.
SAC Golfer of the Year and a graduate student from Ronninge, Sweden, Hellman, earned a 4.0 GPA as a business marketing and management major and while obtaining her Master of Business Administration degree. A four-year member of the Limestone President's and Dean's Lists, she was named to the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll and was a 2020-21 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar.
A two-time All-SAC first team selection, Hellman was named the 2022 SAC Women's Golfer of the Year and is currently ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II Women's Golf with a stroke average of 72.93. She has finished in the top-10 nine times this season, while placing in the top-five seven times, and she has captured four tournament championships, while leading the No. 3 Saints to five tournament victories as a team. She has carded 15 rounds at or below par, including a team-best 67 (-5), this season.
"I could not think of anyone more deserving of the President's Award. Ebba is the epitome of a student-athlete and dedicated herself to her studies and athletics every single day. Her work ethic was unmatched in her career and I am glad it is being recognized with this award," said head coach Trey Taylor.
An active member of the Limestone community, Hellman is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, is a certified tutor, and was named the Limestone Tutor of the Year in 2021. She also volunteers with Meals on Wheels, helping prepare and deliver meals to the Gaffney community.
