ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced on Wednesday, Nov. 8 that four members of the Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team have received All-Conference honors.
Defender Ivan Rubio led the way for the Bears with a First Team All-SAC recognition. The graduate student from Pamplona, Spain, ended the regular season with the second-most points on the team with eight. Rubio also started 14 matches for the Bears and tallied over 1180 minutes on the pitch.
Up next, both forward Adrian Martina and defender Harri Rowe were named to Second Team All-SAC.
Martina, the graduate student from Avila, Spain, constructed the first LR 20-point season since 2018 with a team-high 21 points and eight goals. Martina was named a 2023 Preseason All-SAC First Team member and was a part of the 2022 First Team All-SAC.
Rowe, the junior from Aberystwyth, Wales, had a share of most assists on the team with Martina at five. The defender also appeared in 14 matches during the regular season and had 10 90-minute performances. Rowe was named a 2023 Preseason All-SAC Second Team member and was a part of the 2021 Third Team All-SAC.
The final member to receive all-conference honors was team captain and defender, Oliver Gardner, who was named to Third Team All-SAC. Gardner, a graduate student from Braunton, England, started in all 15 matches for the Bears in the regular season and led the team with 1336 minutes. Gardner was named a 2023 Preseason All-SAC First Team member and was a part of the 2022 Second Team All-SAC and 2020-21 Second Team All-SAC.
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team continues its path to back-to-back SAC Championships with a semi-final match against No. 2 seeded Limestone on Friday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m.
