HICKORY, N.C. -
Guillermo Garcia has earned a spot on the D2CCA All-Southeast Region First team, becoming just the 21st individual in Lenoir-Rhyne men's soccer history to earn a spot on an All-Region team.
Garcia was a standout defender for the Bears this season, starting in all 17 games and logging 1,545 minutes on the pitch, the third most on the team. He was named the SAC Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in the season opener against Belmont Abbey and finished the year with two goals and two assists. His strong defending helped the Bears allow just 10 goals in conference play and post six total shutouts.
Garcia was joined by Anderson goalkeeper Franco Antoniolli and midfielder Juan Pablo Lepervanche as the only South Atlantic Conference honorees on the first team. In total the SAC had seven individuals named to a D2CCA All-Region team.
