ROCK HILL, S.C. - The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Men's Soccer Players of the Week for games played in during the second week of the 2023 season. Lenoir-Rhyne's Juan Basabe was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Basabe, a graduate student from Durango, Spain, recorded his first clean sheet of the season in the conference opener against Tusculum and had four saves on the week. This marks Basabe's 15th career clean sheet.

This marks the third time that Basabe has earned the honor of SAC Defensive Player of the Week in his collegiate career.

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Soccer Team will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 16 for a road match against Limestone at 7:30 p.m.
