Women's Soccer under consideration in first NCAA regional release

HICKORY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team is one of 10 teams in the Southeast Region under consideration in the first NCAA Division II Regional Rankings.

The Southeast Region consists of 37 teams from the South Atlantic Conference (SAC), Conference Carolinas, the Peach Belt Conference (PBC), and multiple independent teams. Lenoir-Rhyne currently boasts the best DII Performance Indicator in the region (22.385), coming in just ahead of of Columbus State (21.714) and Catawba (20.429).

The Bears, who reached the national quarterfinals last season, currently sit at 9-0-4 and are tied with Catawba at the top of the SAC standings at 7-0-2. They are led in points by Evan O'Leary (4g, 10a) and local product Ava Hartman (6g, 0a). Goalie Riley Miller has been vital for the Bears, as she has allowed just 10 goals all season.

This weeks rankings put the teams under consideration in alphabetical order. Next week will be the first week the teams are ranked numerically.
