Evan O'Leary named Second Team All-American

HICKORY, NC - Evan O'Leary has been named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Second Team, becoming just the 11th All-American in Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer history. O'Leary is one of just 37 individuals to be named an All-American, and she was the SAC's only representative.

"Evan absolutely embodies the qualities that it takes to be an All-American," states Head Coach Joanna Fennema. "Her grit, work ethic, and competitive spirit are key to her success. On game day, Evan brings every ounce of energy to insure her team's success. As a staff we are so proud of the terrific season she has had this year."

This marks the final award of O'Leary's illustrious career, as she has been named the SAC Offensive Player of the Year, CSC Academic All-District, D2CCA All-Region First Team (2X), USC All-Region First Team, USC All-Region Third Team, All-SAC First Team (2X), All-SAC Third Team, and SAC Tournament MVP.

O'Leary finished her season tied for the team lead with eight goals and led the nation with 15 assists. She sits at second all-time in LR history for single season assists, and her career mark of 31 assists is also second all-time. Her 83 points puts her firmly in sixth in LR history. O'Leary's 85 career games played put her in a tie with Rebecca Lin and Kaelia Frazier for sixth all-time in that category.

During her four years the Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team went 54-13-18, winning two SAC regular season titles and two SAC Tournament championships. The Bears advanced to the NCAA Tournament every year of O'Leary's career, making it to the national semi-finals in 2021 and the quarterfinals in 2023.
