BEAUFORT, S.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's golf team closed out the Fall portion of their schedule by competing at the Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite. The Bears took 13th out of 15 teams, finishing with a three-round total of 898 (+34).
The team champion was Lee, who had rounds of 282-284-273 to finish with an 839 (-25), 18 strokes above second place Georgia Southwestern. The individual medalist was Lee's Drew Zielinski, who shot a 207 (-9) over 54 holes.Â
Leading the way for the Bears was
Slade Aliff, who went 74-71-72 to tie for 19th with a 217 (+1). Just behind him was
Sean Finan, who tied for 32nd with a 220 (+4).
Nicklaus Newton (232, +16),
Archie Mathers (233, +17), and
Matthew McDougall (237, +21) closed it out for the Bears. Aliff was strong on Par 4s, finishing third in the field with a 3.93 (-2) average.Â
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
Lenoir-Rhyne won't be back in action until they take part in the Spring Kickoff Intercollegiate on February 9-10 in St. Augustine, Florida.Â
