HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's soccer team is ranked fifth in this week's NCAA Southeast Regional rankings. These are the last rankings that will come out until Monday night's selection show. That show will take place at 6:30 p.m. on ncaa.com.
The Bears currently sport a 10-4-3 (7-1-2 SAC) record and look to be in a good spot to make the NCAA Tournament, despite last week's penalty kick loss to Wingate in the SAC Tournament. Lenoir-Rhyne is searching for their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament birth, having advanced to the national semi-finals in 2021 and the quarterfinals in 2023.
Catawba, Lenoir-Rhyne, Anderson, Coker, and Wingate were the SAC schools represented in this week's rankings. North Georgia (No. 1) and Catawba (No. 2) are the two schools most likely to host the first and second round of the tournament. The No. 4, 5, and 8 seeds travel to the 1 seed while the 3, 6, and 7 seeds head to the 2 seed.
