WINGATE, N.C. - Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Bob Braman and the Lenoir-Rhyne cross country teams prepare to take part in the NCAA Regionals tomorrow morning.
The race is hosted by Wingate at the Wingate Cross Country Course. The women's 6k race begins at 10:00 a.m. with the men's 10k race set to start at 11:15 a.m.
The Lenoir-Rhyne women have been led this year by junior
Maria Carmona, who set personal bests in the 5k (17:51.4) and the 6k (22:35.1). She finished 22nd at the SAC Championships, the first Lenoir-Rhyne Bear to cross the line.
Caitlyn Christie,
Regly Jemutai, and
Olivia Overholt have all been consistent this season and will look to finish near that front pack.
On the men's side,
Cristian Cabascango was the top finisher at the SAC Championships, running the tough 8k course in a time of 31:08.53. Not far behind him was
Chase Bryant and
Paul Williams. The Bears will get a boost from of the triathlon specific men who weren't able to compete at conference.
