WINGATE, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne men's cross country team closed out their 2025 campaign with an 18th place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Winning the race was Wingate with 16 points, as they had five of the top six finishers. Wingate's Lars Laros won the individual title in 30:48.38.Â
"The guys competed really hard today and I'm proud of them for that," said coach
Bob Braman. "Ugolin ran strong today, chasing the top 25 for most of the race. Leon ran tough as well. Team wise we were about the same place as last year, but top to bottom we've improved a ton this season."
The Bears finished with 536 team points, comfortably ahead of fellow SAC schools Newberry and Carson-Newman and just head of Peach Belt foe Columbus State. The leading runner for Lenoir-Rhyne on the 10k course was
Ugolin Anselm, who came in 41st with a time of 33:44.23. Joining him in the top 100 was
Leon Fischer, who's time of 35:13.71 was good enough for 86th.Â
Cristian Cabascango (37:25.67) and
Jakub Soucek (37:53.00) each finished in the 37 minute range.
Chase Bryant was the final scorer for the Bears with a time of 38:09.03, while
Kyle Erskine's time of 39:10.45 rounded things out for the Bears.Â
