LENOIR-CITY, TN - The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf team closed out the regular season portion of their schedule with a big third-place finish at the Tennessee River Rumble. This event consisted of eight top-50 teams.
The Bears finished third thanks to rounds of 289-282-307 (878, +14), coming in one stroke better than #6 Grand Valley State. Lenoir-Rhyne, ranked 23rd in the most recent Clipdd rankings, has finished in the top-five in six of their eight tournaments.
Leading the way for the Bears was none other than
Holt Allison, who finished second out of 100 golfers with rounds of 70-69-73 (212, -4). Ranked #18 in this week's individual rankings, Allison now has five top-three finishes on the year. Not far behind Allison was
Mads Emil Boas, who finished with a 221 (+5) to tie for 23rd, his best finish of the season. Rounding out Lenoir-Rhyne's top-three finishers was
Matthew McDougall. #135 nationally, McDougall tied for 30th with a 222 (+6).
INDIVIDUAL SCORES
The Bears have two weeks off before they travel to Greenville, South Carolina, to compete in the SAC Championships. The tournament is scheduled to take place on April 14-15 at the Preserve at Verdae.
