Baseball drops midweek matchup vs. Barton

HICKORY, NC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball team fell 21-8 to Barton on Tuesday night in Hickory. Both Michael Logan and Eli Willen hit home runs for the Bears.

STORY OF THE GAME:
  • Barton jumped on the Bears early, scoring nine runs in the first two innings.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne game back with two runs in the second and four in the third, highlighted by a three-run home run from Michael Logan.
  • The Bulldogs came back with five runs in the top of the fourth and one in the sixth to take a 15-6 lead.
  • Eli Willen hit his seventh home run of the year in the sixth inning.
  • Mackenzie Wainright hit an RBI single to score Nathan Kidder that same inning to cut the lead to 15-8.
  • Barton continued to push, scoring six runs over the final three innings to win this one by 13.

  • Mackenzie Wainwright extended his hitting streak to 32 games and has nine consecutive games with exactly two hits.
  • LR is now 13-14 all-time against Barton and have lost three of their last four meetings.
