ATHENS, WV - There is a new single-season home run king at Lenoir-Rhyne, and his name is
Mackenzie Wainwright. The slugger from Ohio hit his 19th home run in the third inning of LR's 12-2 win at Concord on Tuesday, breaking the record of 18 set by
Tyler McPeak just two years ago. That home run also doubled as LR's 100th long ball of the year.
The Bears used a seven-run third inning to pull away from Concord for their 37th win of the year. Six Bears tallied at least two hits, with a stat line of 2-for-2 with two walks and two runs from
Cole Laskowski leading the way.
