MIDLOTHIAN, VA - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's triathlon team competed in the Robius Landing Triathlon on Sunday morning, their final tune up before the East Regional in a month. Despite not racing their top three individuals, the Bears took third out of 14 teams.
The course consisted of a 750 meter swim, 12.7 mile bike, and 5k to close it out. Wingate won the team title with 336 points, narrowly beating the US Naval Academy, who had 328. Lenoir-Rhyne and East Tennessee State both finished with 301 points, but the Bears got the tiebreaker thanks to a faster fifth runner. Division I Delaware State rounded out the top-five with 263 points.
Finishing first for the Bears was sophomore
Isis Gaskin, who took fifth with a 57:17.01. Freshman
Ana Brown was the second finisher across the line for the Bears, taking 15th with a 59:06.98.
Alessandra Maso was just behind Brown, placing 17th with a 59:09.15. Lenoir-Rhyne had their third through fifth finishers cross the line within 20 seconds of each other, as

Ashlynn Webb took 23rd through 25th.
Lenoir-Rhyne will take three weeks off before competing in the East Regional at Lake Norman on Saturday, October 25th. Should they qualify for the nationals, the Bears would travel to Tempe, Arizona, for that competition on Sunday, November 9th.
