Women's Cross Country takes part in App State's Fire Tower Project Run

BOONE, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne women's cross country team took part in the App State Fire Tower Project Run on Friday, taking 11th out of 14 teams. Virginia Tech won the race with 15 points, taking up the first seven spots of the race.

Brooke Reynolds led the Bears, taking 57th with a 6k time of 23:56., the first Bear to break the 24 minute mark this season. Coming in behind her was Tigist Siler, who's time of 24:32.9 not only set a new 6k personal best, but improved on her time at this race from last year by over a minute. Jordana Nunez was Lenoir-Rhyne's third finisher, running a 24:59.0 in just the second race of her collegiate career. Caitlyn Christie (25:18.5) and Charlotte Miller (26:21.4) were the final scorers for the Bears.

The Bears will be back racing next week when they head to Charlotte to take part in the Royals Cross Country Challenge. The race will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Friday at McAlpine Creek Park, the same location as the Queen City Invite earlier this season.
