SPARTANBURG, SC - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Cross Country team closed out their season on Saturday at the Southeast Regional Championships. Competing for the first time this season,
Carolin Fuehren ran the second fastest 6k time of her collegiate career (22:35.9). This put her in 24th place and earned her All-Region honors.
As a team the Bears ran well, finishing eighth out of 26 teams. Winning the meet was Wingate, while the top finisher was Flagler's Taylor Stone, who crossed the line in 21:04.5.
Following Fuehren was
Elizabeth Kessler, who came through in 48th with a time of 23:26.7. Not far behind her was freshman
Daniela Flores-Gutierrez, who ran a new personal best time of 23:39.3. Rounding out the scoring for the Bears were
Caitlyn Christie (24:17.9) and
Maria Carmona (24:22.5). Christie's time is a personal best while Caromona was just 0.4 off her personal best set two weeks ago at the SAC Championships.
