HICKORY, N.C. - The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Cross Country team comes in sixth in the first edition of the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional Rankings.
The Bears have competed in two events so far this year, taking third at the Converse Invitational and sixth at the Queen City Invite. At the Converse Kick-Off,
Regly Jemutai and
Maria Carmona led the way with second and fourth place finishes. Facing a loaded field at the Queen City Invite, Lenoir-Rhyne was the top finishing Division II team.
Zoila Sicilia was 32nd out of 228 runners and the first DII athlete across the line. Carmona wasn't far behind her, finishing in 42nd, while Jemutai continued her strong freshman campaign with a 57th place finish.
The Bears head to Boone, N.C., on Friday, October 3rd, to compete in the Firetower Project Run, before travel back to Charlotte to take part in the Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday, October 10th.
