HICKORY, N.C. - For the second time this season, running back
Shermon Davis has been named the South Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
The Jacksonville, Florida, native ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday, helping lead the Bears to a 21-20 win over Emory & Henry. He posted touchdown runs of 61 and 72 yards in the first half and averaged 11.6 yards per carry throughout the game.
This was the sophomore's second 200+ rushing yard game of the season, making him the first Bear since Dwayne McGee in 2023 to accomplish that feat. Davis' 600 yards on the ground leads the team, and he has yet to record run for a loss this season.
